Freestyle Body Position

Keep the hips high by lowering the head and keeping the back of your head in line with the spine; strive to maintain a straight vertical line. During the stroke the body rolls from side to side to increase power and decrease resistance, eyes are looking down unless breathing while the body rotates from one side to the other. Try flutter kicking while rotated on your side, top arm resting across the chest, bottom arm extended, eyes looking down, take one stroke to roll to the opposite side and take a breath, then return to an eyes down vertical line side position.

Stowe Swimmers Swim Club is geared to recreational swimmers ages 6 & up looking to have fun and improve their fitness and skills in the water - AND - to competitive swimmers of any age and ability looking to enjoy the experience of competitive swimming.

Group Swim lessons are a swimmers favorite, they consist of six 30 minute long swim lessons taught once a week by one of our American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors, to find out more about class ratios and finding the right class level click here.
