Freestyle Body Position

Keep the hips high by lowering the head and keeping the back of your head in line with the spine; strive to maintain a straight vertical line. During the stroke the body rolls from side to side to increase power and decrease resistance, eyes are looking down unless breathing while the body rotates from one side to the other. Try flutter kicking while rotated on your side, top arm resting across the chest, bottom arm extended, eyes looking down, take one stroke to roll to the opposite side and take a breath, then return to an eyes down vertical line side position.

Stowe Swimmers Swim Club is geared to recreational swimmers ages 6 & up looking to have fun and improve their fitness and skills in the water - AND - to competitive swimmers of any age and ability looking to enjoy the experience of competitive swimming. Swim meets are OPTIONAL. All swimmers receive pre & post season recorded swim times to monitor their own personal success. Want to excel faster than in a group setting? Hire one of our certified instructors for private swim lessons - from first time swimmers, to proficient swimmers looking to shave time off their laps or train for a triathlon.

Winter Group Swim Lessons ~ for Kids

Each group swim lesson session consists of six 30 minute classes taught once a week by American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors,  to find out more about class ratios and finding the right class level click here.
